Lead to Cash

One deal. All systems agree.

See where your revenue chain breaks today and what it looks like when it runs on its own.

The Lead to Cash line, seven stages from lead to cash:

  1. Lead
  2. Quote
  3. Contract
  4. Order
  5. Invoice
  6. Revenue
  7. Cash

Why it breaks

Sales lives in Salesforce. Accounting lives in NetSuite.

Between them sit exports, spreadsheets and people re-typing the same deal three times. Every hand-off is a chance for the quote, the invoice and the revenue schedule to disagree, and finance finds out at month end.

The seven stages in depth

Each stage, today and when it works.

  1. 01 · Lead

Every lead lands in one place

    Today

Leads come in from forms, events and partners, and sales works from a list nobody fully trusts.

    When it works

Every lead lands in Salesforce once, de-duplicated and routed to the right rep, with its source kept for reporting.

    What we do

Connect web forms and Marketo to Salesforce, then set up lead matching, routing and campaign attribution.

    Marketo · Salesforce

  2. 02 · Quote

Price it once, bill it right

    Today

Reps build quotes from old spreadsheets and approved discounts live in someone’s inbox.

    When it works

Quotes are built from the same products, prices and bundles that NetSuite bills, with approval rules built in.

    What we do

Configure Salesforce CPQ product rules, price books and approvals, mapped to NetSuite items.

  3. 03 · Contract

Terms that travel with the deal

    Today

Signed terms sit in a PDF, and renewal dates are tracked from memory.

    When it works

Term, start date, billing frequency and renewal terms are captured once and travel with the deal.

    What we do

Model contract terms as structured fields that sync to NetSuite and drive billing and renewals.

    Salesforce · NetSuite

  4. 04 · Order

    Closed won means ordered

    Today

Finance re-keys every closed deal, and mistakes surface on the invoice.

    When it works

A closed-won opportunity creates the customer and sales order in NetSuite, and failures raise an alert instead of disappearing.

    What we do

Build the sync in Boomi or SuiteScript, with error handling, logging and a clear owner for each failure.

    Boomi · SuiteScript 2.1 · RESTlets

  5. 05 · Invoice

    Invoices that send themselves

    Today

Tax gets corrected by hand and project billing depends on someone chasing timesheets.

    When it works

Invoices follow the billing schedule, tax is calculated automatically and project time bills itself.

    What we do

Set up billing schedules, SuiteProjects billing and AvaTax, then test them against real scenarios.

    NetSuite · SuiteProjects · AvaTax

  6. 06 · Revenue

    Revenue that recognises itself

    Today

Revenue schedules are rebuilt in Excel every close and audit questions take days to answer.

    When it works

Revenue arrangements and ASC 606 schedules are created from the order and roll up across subsidiaries.

    What we do

Implement NetSuite Advanced Revenue Management and OneWorld consolidation that match your policies.

    NetSuite ARM · OneWorld

  7. 07 · Cash

    Sales knows who has paid

    Today

Account teams can’t see who has paid, so renewals and collections calls happen blind.

    When it works

Payments, credits and open balances flow back to Salesforce automatically.

    What we do

Sync payment and balance data to the CRM and build the dashboards both teams use.

Patterns we build

Four chains we have wired more than once.

Multi-subsidiary SaaS

A software company selling across several subsidiaries quotes in Salesforce CPQ. Closed deals create NetSuite OneWorld sales orders in the right subsidiary, and Advanced Revenue Management builds the ASC 606 schedule the moment the order saves.

Stages: Quote · Order · Revenue

Services firm

A professional services firm signs statements of work in Salesforce. Each one creates a SuiteProjects project with its billing schedule, time flows into project billing, and invoices go out without anyone copying hours from a timesheet.

Stages: Contract · Invoice

Marketing to revenue

Marketo leads become Salesforce opportunities, opportunities become NetSuite customers and orders, and payment status comes back to the account team. Boomi carries each hand-off and raises an alert when one fails.

Stages: Quote · Order · Cash

Moving off a legacy ERP

Customer, item and open balance data migrate into NetSuite while the Salesforce and tax integrations are rebuilt against the new account, so go-live happens once and nothing gets re-keyed afterwards.

Stages: Order · Invoice · Revenue

Where to start

Fix one stage or rebuild the chain.

Most teams start with the stage that hurts most, usually the order hand-off or revenue schedules, then extend from there. A service plan keeps the chain healthy once it runs.

Questions buyers ask

Before the discovery call.

Do we need Boomi?

No. Boomi suits companies with several systems to connect. Simpler setups can run on SuiteScript and RESTlets. We recommend whichever you can support.

We already have an integration. Can you fix it?

Yes. Many projects start by stabilising an existing sync before extending it.

Do you only work with Salesforce?

Salesforce is the most common front end we connect, but the same approach applies to other CRMs and billing tools.

Is this just for finance?

No. Sales, RevOps and IT all work in the same chain, and the design starts with how each team works today.
